Bio-Identical Hormone Pellets
The insertion procedure is done in the office under local anesthetic and typically takes less than 20 minutes! A very small incision is made near the hip and the pellets, which are about the size of a grain of rice each, then inserted into the fatty tissue underneath. No stitches are required as the incision is so small, steri-strip bandages are used to close the incision. You should not feel the pellets after they are inserted and they do not need to be removed – they are eventually completely absorbed by the body. The only restrictions after insertion are to avoid pools/tubs and intense exercise for 3 days. Members pay no extra fees for hormone pellet insertion, simply pay for the cost of the pellets and pick a date to have them inserted. For most women the hormones last 3-6 months, typically women have them replaced every 4 months.
Pellets can help relieve symptoms of menopause including:
- Decreased sex drive
- Vaginal dryness and painful intercourse
- Hot flashes
- Low energy and focus
- Decreased muscle mass
- Increased irritability, depression and anxiety
